StudyPortals began by connecting world-class universities with students, and over the past 12 years, they have grown to serve over 50 million students, offering access to more than 200,000 courses across 110 countries.

As a result, StudyPortals' information systems have become increasingly complex. With the rise of process mining - a research field enabled by the availability of event data - it has become possible to discover, analyze, and optimize such complex business processes.

StudyPortals approached AI4Business with challenges in estimating the throughput duration of their enrollment process, which could impact budgeting for future development. Our students utilized data analysis and process mining techniques, including pm4py, to examine the event logs from StudyPortals' enrollment revenue stream from 2021 to 2024. This analysis provided crucial insights into their business activities, highlighting the universities with the highest enrollment rates and enabling a more targeted approach to budgeting.

Additionally, our students identified the duration of the enrollment process and pinpointed bottlenecks, offering solutions to streamline and improve efficiency.
